My name is Ben-Zhen Sung. Pronounce the ‘zh’ like a ‘j,’ but if that’s still difficult, no worries. Feel free to call me ‘BZ’ or something. 🙂

I’ll be a senior at Stanford this coming fall, majoring in English with a concentration in creative writing. Wanted to be music major, but that didn’t work out so well due to an injury; I’m settling for keeping up with my music activities in the meantime. I have a background in classical piano and choral singing. I’m also super interested in Celtic, New Age, trance, electronic, and video game music…actually, I’ll give pretty much anything a listening try. I dabble in piano composition and improvisation in my spare time.

I hope to come away from these two weeks with a better understanding of sound, sound manipulation using computers, software, equipment, etc, as well as hands-on experience recording sound in a studio environment. The latter especially, would help me be more independent as an artist. And, you know, after some years on the performance side of things, studying the production aspect sounds very eye-opening.

Okay, that’s about it. Nice to meet you all!
